Terms & conditions

Katalyst · Last updated 16 October 2026

These Terms & conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between Katalyst ("we", "us") and the business or person that creates a Katalyst account ("you"). By creating an account or using Katalyst, you accept these Terms. If you accept them for a company, you confirm you may bind that company.

1. The service

1.1 What Katalyst does

Katalyst lets you build AI chatbots that answer questions from the knowledge you provide, capture leads, and run on your website through a chat widget.

1.2 Your subscription

You may use Katalyst during your subscription, within the limits of your plan (such as replies per month, chatbots and storage). Add-ons and extra replies are available as described in your account.

1.3 Our ownership

We own Katalyst, its software and its documentation. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you, other than the right to use the service.

1.4 Your team

You may invite people to your workspace. You are responsible for what they do in it and for keeping sign-in details safe.

2. Your responsibilities

2.1 Your content

You keep all rights to the knowledge, settings and content you add ("Your Content"). You allow us to host, copy and process Your Content only to provide and secure the service. You confirm you have the right to use Your Content, and that it does not break any law or anyone's rights.

2.2 Your visitors

You are responsible for your chatbot's use on your website, including telling visitors that they are talking to an AI, publishing your own privacy notice, and getting any consent the law requires.

2.3 What you may not do

  • Use Katalyst for anything unlawful, deceptive, harassing or harmful.
  • Upload malware, or content you are not allowed to share.
  • Try to break, overload or get around the security or limits of the service.
  • Copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it.
  • Use chatbot replies as professional advice (for example medical, legal or financial) without review by a qualified person.

3. AI replies

Replies are generated automatically from your knowledge and can be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for checking how your chatbot answers and for correcting its knowledge. We do not use Your Content to train AI models.

4. Third-party services

Katalyst works with services you choose to connect, such as calendars and CRMs. Their own terms apply to them, and we are not responsible for them.

5. Fees and payment

5.1 Fees

Subscriptions are billed in advance for each billing period. Top-ups and add-ons are billed when you buy them.

5.2 Payment

You authorise us and our payment provider to charge your payment method. Fees are non-refundable except where these Terms or the law say otherwise.

5.3 Taxes

Prices do not include taxes such as VAT, which are added where applicable.

5.4 Late payment

If a payment fails, we may limit or suspend your account after telling you, until the amount is paid.

6. Term and ending the agreement

6.1 Term

Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

6.2 Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in your billing settings; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. We may end or suspend your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms.

6.3 After the agreement ends

You can export your data until the end of your subscription. We delete Your Content within 90 days after that, except what we must keep by law.

7. Warranties and disclaimers

We will provide Katalyst with reasonable skill and care. Apart from that, the service is provided "as is", and we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Each party's total liability under these Terms is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence.

9. Confidentiality

Each party will keep the other's non-public information confidential and use it only for this agreement, unless the information is already public or the law requires its disclosure.

10. Data protection

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Where we process personal data for you, such as your visitors' conversations, our Data Processing Addendum applies and forms part of these Terms.

11. General

11.1 Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. We will tell you about important changes at least 30 days in advance. If you continue to use Katalyst after that, the new Terms apply.

11.2 Force majeure

Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control.

11.3 Assignment

You may not transfer this agreement without our consent. We may transfer it as part of a merger or sale of our business.

11.4 Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the documents they refer to, are the whole agreement between us about Katalyst. If a provision is invalid, the rest stays in force.

11.5 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of Switzerland. The courts at the registered office of Katalyst have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law says otherwise.
